Nord-Sel

picture missing

The Nord-Sel church was built from notched timber in 1932. The outer walls are impregnated with tar, which has a pleasant smell, but it might not be that good for you in the long run. If you're driving the E6 southwards from Dombås and plan to go westwards to Vågå, Lom etc., there is a shortcut (recommended) hitting the main road E15 close to Vågå. A few hundred meters from the E6 you'll find this church.

This trilogy was the main reason for Sigrid Undset's Nobel price. The plot takes place during the first half of the fourteenth Century; Kristin dies from the Black Death in 1349. The first novel describes her life on a farm in Sel, in the vicinity of this church.
