See the inside of Norway: The south entrance to Bergs-tunnelen (2.591 km) at the inner end of Fjærlands-fjorden. On the opposite side of the fjord the small community Mundal is seen (picture of the church). Do you remember Walter Mondale, the US Democratic Vice President 1977-81, and the 1984 Democratic nominee for President that lost. The spelling of his family name was once adapted to the new language, but its origin is still evident. (He visited his grandparent's home later this summer.) |
