The Tyholt Tower stands on the top of the hill (Tyholt) on the east side of the town center. It is intended mainly for telecommunication, but there is also a once per hour rotating restaurant for 120 guests 74 meters above the ground. There are two lifts and two stairways with 442 steps. The top of the antenna is 128(?) meters above ground. The tower was completed in 1985 and the outside decorated much later by the Norwegian artist Pia Myrvold.
