Gjevilvatnet in 'early' spring. The lake collects and stores water for a hydroelectric power plant and before snow melting the level is always kept low. The power plant ("Driva" in Sunndal) and all the artificial waterways are hidden in the bedrock.

Vangshaugen. Altitude 750 m, south of the valley Sunndalen (Trollheimen lies north of Sunndalen), 14 km by road from Gjøra. Vangshaugen was built by Ethelbert Lort-Phillips from Wales in 1919 and bought by a local (Kristiansund) tourist organization in 1934. Accommodations for the public during the summer.

Arctous alpina, alpine or black bearberry, gets the intense red colour early in the autumn.

The red colour of alpine or black bearberry is visible only when the light has passed through the leaves. When the light is just reflected, they look dull brown. Here they are mixed with lichens.
