The Knight's leap
In the fourteenth Century there was this incredibly beautiful girls. Sigvat, knight of Valdres fell in love with the girl, and it's claimed to be mutual. Unfortunately the girl was to marry another knight, but Sigvat abducted the girl. Pursued by his rival, Sigvat jumped over the river with the girl at this gorge.

The river Sjoa runs down a side valley to Gudbrandsdalen. It is one of the popular rivers for whitewater kayaking and rafting. It seems that a lot of people have performed the leap. Maybe it is used as a manhood test? Anyway, now there is a bridge quite close.
