Alstahaug church on the beautiful island Alsta (also written Alsten and known for the mountains the  Seven Sisters   Seven Sisters   Seven Sisters  ) on the coast of Helgeland in Nordland. The oldest part of it seems to have been built around 1200. It is best known because the poet and hymn writer Petter Dass (1647–1707) was parish priest here from 1689 till his death. His memorial stone is seen behind the left end of the church.
