The Værnes church is said to be the oldest standing building in Norway, the work on it starting about 1085. It's situated near the east end of the runway of the Trondheim airport, Værnes, east of Trondheim. Also, it is situated north of the Stjørdal River, on the south side of the river lies the Lånke church and the famous village Hell.
