The old Vang burial site, on the south side of the road westwards to Sunndal and Kristiansund, about 2½ kilometres from the train station. (The Oppdal church stands on the opposite side of the road, 5–600 m away.) It covers more than a hundred thousand square metres and has been used for burials from 400 till 1000 AC. 758 graves have been found. They appear quite modest, less than half a meter high, and many of them are difficult to spot. The site is close to the main road and is always open to the public (no, don't bring the metal detector).
